Company profile

SphereOptics GmbH was established 2003 along with two partner companies in the United States and France, as well as with a global network of representatives. Because of the merger between  Labsphere Inc. andh SphereOptics LLC in  the US  beginning of 2010 we can extensively serve the market with optical measurement systems and a wide range of integrating spheres, materials and standards for the measurement of diffuse reflectance. We also offer an extensive calibration service to our customers.

We are specialized on the production, refining and calibration of materials and standards for diffuse transmission and reflectance. These are highly pure sintered PTFE products and are sold under the trademark Zenith. Zenith Polymer is the preferred material in the aerospace industry, and in spectroscopy and optical laboratories. For high quality integrating spheres and homogeneous light sources, sintered, porous PTFE is the material of choice.

Labsphere Inc., USA , develops and produces standardized as well as customized products in the field of radiometric and photometric applications, which match the requirements of product areas like aerospace, car industry, medical technology and optical industry.

In order to extend the product range of optical measurement and characterizing systems, in 2005 SphereOptics GmbH has been named as exclusive representative of the American company Radiant Imaging Inc., which is world leader in CCD based colorimeter systems for the characterization of light sources, LED“s and displays.
There are specific software packages for almost all applications in the characterization of modern light sources and for the goniometric analysis.

In 2006 the representation of ASD Analytical Spectral Devices Inc. for the German speaking countries has been added. Their FieldSpec model is a portable spectrometer for the spectral remote sensing and their application. In the LabSpec configuration the systems are well suitable for online-analysis in laboratory and production applications.
For user-specific solutions in almost every range of light measurement, SphereOptics is a competent contact and we assure individuality and flexibility to offer solutions for all areas of light measurement.

Since June 2011 we additionally took over the representation of NEO, one of the market leader in the area of hyperspectral imagings, for the German speaking countries, as well as the European Eastern countries.

Your management team

...the SphereOptics Europe Team

Dr. Rainer Böhm, Management & Technical Sales - Lighting Technology / Remote Sensing

Dr. Rainer Boehm joined the SphereOptics Team in January 2012 as new general manager and as additional sales force. He holds a degree in physics and achieved his PhD in the field of spectroscopy, Laser and semiconductor physics at the University in Hamburg. Rainer is looking onto 20 years of professional experience in the optical industry in a number of sales and R&D positions. Before joining SphereOptics he was employed at a Laser company in Switzerland, managing key accounts and sales for industrial and consumer Laser products.

Christina Fatho, Technical Sales – Lighting Technology

Christina Fatho, née Böhme, graduated in March 2006 in the field of chemical engineering and finished her studies with a thesis on the influence parameters in production of porous, optical PTFE. After her graduation she started working at SphereOptics in the field of technical sales and calibrations of optical standards. For an intermediate term of one year Christina was holding the position of the general manager and since 2012 she is responsible for overall sales management and the calibration certification.

Dr. Andrįs Jung, Scientific & Technical Consultant - Remote Sensing / Imaging and Field Spectroscopy

András Jung graduated from the Corvinus University and the Technical University of Budapest. He holds an MSc in engineering and has worked with applications in hyperspectral remote sensing in which he received his PhD in 2006. Between 2006 and 2010 he worked as a research fellow at the Martin-Luther University. Since middle of 2010 he has been employed with the SphereOptics GmbH and is responsible for remote sensing applications and the ASD (Analytical Spectral Devices, Inc.) and NEO (norsk elektro optikk) product lines. He will be the leading part in our future radiometric calibration facility of the ASD Field spectrometers.

Alexandra Poisel, Office Manager and Financing

Alexandra Poisel is multilingual and did her degree in international secretary at the Institute of foreign languages in Gengenbach / Black Forrest. Before joining SphereOptics she worked for several companies in the field of customer service and marketing communications.  At SphereOptics she is responsible for order handling, as well as Export and Controlling and runs the communication centre.

Alexander Schwarz, Quality Management & Marketing
