For the achievement of correct results in the spectral analysis in the UV/VIS/NIR-area the calibration of the x/y-coordinates on a regularly basis is very important. For the adjustment or verification of the wavelength a variety of physical standards (light sources with a defined emission line) or mixtures of rare oxides as Holmium, Erbium und Dysprosium are available. 

Embedded in PTFE or as raw mixtures under glass, the wavelength standards are commonly used for calibrations. The verification of the wavelength can be done with the characteristic bands over the wavelength area from 250nm to 2500nm. The wavelength standards do not age and can be used over several years without recalibration.
